Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut

A young writer decides to interview the children of a scientist primarily responsible for the creation of the atomic bomb.

Thought-provoking and deep – full of irony – recommend.  – VC     5 stars

Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto

When she discovers a dead man in the middle of her tea shop, Vera Wong, a suspicious Chinese mother with time on her hands, calls the police but not before tidying the crime scene and deciding she’s going to solve the case herself.

Fun with a twist ending – great book – highly recommend.  – MH     4.5 stars

This Impossible Brightness: a Novel by Jessica Bryant Klagmann

Caught in the unexplainable aftermath of one of Violette's deadliest storms, Alma Hughes, as the deaths devastate her new community, uses her unique link to the lost to help those left move on, while confronting a tragic loss of her own to discover the power of hope among the living.

Very strange but very readable. – CW     5 stars
